Travel NatureThese notebooks were inspired by both pictorial spreads in magazines, usually illustrating a text, and the botanists’ rendering in scientific journals of a particular flora or fauna so popular in years past. I was attracted to the 19th century iconic traveler’s guidebooks to foreign lands, with the charts and maps and archeologists’ sketches of exotic ruins.
